Approach:
I am focused in running creative workshops that use an arts based approach to aid participants in making meaningful acts of self expression. All workshops I run focus on creating a safe space where participance are able to explore, learn, create and transform their experiences into meaningful creative-practices, lessons and artwork. I seek to be witness, hold space for and reflect back participants lived experiences to themselves; if able, I also encourage participants in workshops to engage in acts of sharing and community building by utilizing their own creative work.

The Kitchen Table Writing Workshop:
Participants come together at the artist's studio kitchen table to create art, write and build community in this annual workshop. With the mentorship and support from Spencer, over the course of a weekend, each group member produces a cohesive and meaningful portfolio of work along side their cohort, all the while enjoying delicious snacks and the joys of workshopping together.
Performences
You can book a performance with Spencer Sheehan Kalina at your exhibition or event. Explore previous work by requesting a reenactment of a performance art piece or hold space for a new piece of work that has been created by the artist.
Editing
Spencer’s practice as an editor focuses heavily in literary work, specifically poetry. The founding of _____ Press has been the central focus of his work as an editor. He currently is taking on selected manuscripts and projects outside of his work for ______ Press.
