Mes Petits Cadeaux

A continuous series of hand painted cards that are approached as an act of meditation. Each card is a private and contemplative act that is offered over to others with the intention of sharing the experience that spiritual moment, even if in a secondary way, and as a method of further reflection for the artist. By offering knowledge-sharing and engaging viewers of this work to utilize it as a common object, a card, this project seeks to instigate and challenge everyday assumptions of what is expected when spirituality, art, communication technology, community, history, design and love of paper ephemera intersect. These cards are gifts, gifts shared by the artist to the viewer, and potentially a gift from the viewer to another in their life who is in need of some love, joy and peace.
