A body of work that is rooted in an exploratory practice of object-making which focuses on the materiality of objects and how they exist in relation to our lived experience. Drawing from the history of curiosity cabinets, Spencer Sheehan Kalina’s arrangements of this sculptural work expands and contracts to meet the thematic, structural and aesthetic needs of each showing, As was true with curiosity cabinets, each display is.a unique experience, however, this time it is curated by and of the artist, rather than that of the collector, curator, archivist, enthusiast, or genuine curiosity cabinet builder.
